Meet KHM Founders:

Founding Pastor, Brian Barker and his wife Ahtavea Barker were born in Louisiana and Texas, respectively. They met in college (University of Houston/Texas Southern University) and married shortly after graduation.  Married now, 20+ years, they have three children who they deeply admire and support (Brian/Xavier/Sarah). Brian and Ahtavea share a strong focus on families and the body of Christ, as the foundation of strong communities. 

Pastor Brian has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years, where he currently serves as a Financial Planner in the Willamette Valley area. Ahtavea worked as a Forensic Chemist and lab supervisor for many years, prior to her current role as a loving homemaker. In all their career endeavors and pursuits, they have always sought to do their work, as unto God (Colossians 3:23).

Brian and Ahtavea have been actively involved in the Body of Christ since they were young children (usher/choir/musician/youth ministers/outreach).  After relocating to the Eugene, Oregon area in 2022, they accepted a deeper call to disciple and lead the King’s Heart Ministries. They both pride themselves as being servant leaders, as the greatest in the Kingdom of God, must be servants of All (Mark 10: 43-45).  They have faith to hear one day, well done my good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21).
